Ground squirrels have been around for around 30 million years. Their original habitat is North America but they have spread to Eurasia via ''island-hopping'' across the Bering Straits. Today, one of the biggest drays (group of ground squirrels) is located in the southern part of Hungary. This was my first time photographing these playful animals. It was incredibly hard to take pictures of them fighting and playing because of their incredible speed. I used a Canon EOS-1D Mark IV with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens with the ISO of 1600 and 1/2000 of a second.
